Hello, I’m done, thank you.Running head: TECHNOLOGY AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENTTechnology and Supply Chain ManagementInstitutionName1TECHNOLOGY AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT2The Ultimate Goal of a Lean System is a Balanced SystemA lean system ensures that an organization can achieve a rapid and smooth flow of workas well as materials throughout the entire production process. It is because of this streamlinedflow of materials, work and processes under a lean system which results in an organizationhaving a competitive advantage and thus enhancing its customer service. Also, anothercommon aspect of a lean system is cost reduction. Lean production refers to a model in whichwastes are minimized to the lowest level possible or eliminated. When the wastes of productionand other key processes are lowered, it means that production will be efficient and effective.Efficient means there is economy in the uses of resources; hence no wastes are incurred in theform of raw material wastage of capital asset breakdowns. Effectiveness, on the other side, means that processes are carried out at the right time and place. The implication of these is thatcustomers will be able to get what the demand and at the same time the company increased itsrevenues or maintain them at the same level and still earn a profit (Parry, Mills, & Turner,2016).The supporting goals of a lean system which include eliminating disruptions, increasingflexibility, and eliminating wastes helps in maintaining its costs low and thus helping overcomethe challenges that make the company not to operate in optimal conditions. The concept behinda lean system is that a system achieves the best results when they operate under an optimumcondition. This optimum condition is created by ensuring that efficiency is achieved in allactivities and processes in the production cycle. The balance is, therefore achieved throughmatching customer demands with supplier materials. Lean is known to synchronize the entiresupply chain process, thus elimination wastes and ensuring a steady flow of materials andgoods (Parry, Mills, & Turner, 2016).TECHNOLOGY AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT3Using Technology to Share Information with Other Organizations in a Supply ChainTechnology has helped in revolutionizing supply chain networks between organizationsthrough the sharing of information.
